Introduction
Rapid Referral is the triaging of incoming subsequent pleadings to identify those motions and petitions that can move to a Judge without benefit of in-depth legal research and factual review by the Legal Branch. The Probate Division conducted a successful pilot of this process and is moving into production. Rapid Referral improves court administration by utilizing paralegal specialists where appropriate and enhances access to justice through the timely handling of subsequent pleadings.

Process Model

Step-by-Step

A Rapid Referral triage is intended to prevent subsequent pleadings from aging beyond the performance standard. When inventory exists it is important that the Rapid Referral apply to pleadings soon to age beyond the standard.
